YSI Founder and President

Ajay Khashu

YSI’s founder and president, Ajay Khashu, brings more than 15 years of experience managing and conducting evaluations for over 30 government agencies and community organizations. From 2005 to 2008, Ajay served as Research Director of The After-school Corporation (TASC), a national leader in the movement to make high quality out-of-school programs universally available to all youth. From 1998 to 2005, Mr. Khashu worked as a senior researcher for The Vera Institute of Justice, an independent center for policy and practice in the areas of criminal and social justice. Ajay founded Youth Studies, Inc. in January 2009 as a team of researchers who specialize in providing evaluation support to youth-serving organizations.

Lisa DeBellis Scanga

Lisa has worked in the program evaluation field in New York City for over 6 years. As the former program director of evaluation at The After-School Corporation (TASC), Lisa managed the evaluation of approximately seventy 21st Century Community Learning Centers (21CCLC) funded after-school and summer programs across New York City. Lisa holds both a B.S. and an M.A. in Psychology from Fordham University. She is currently working toward the completion of her doctorate in Applied Development Psychology at Fordham University.
